Not only does the quality of the curriculum matter. The quantity is important as well. Is the exact curriculum predetermined and does it consist of exactly predefined content? Or do I have extensive options and can enroll in those courses that are of interest to me and provide real professional development opportunities?
Journalism is a highly comprehensive and differentiated professional and academic field. Hardly anyone can still know everything and be proficient in all facets of journalism. That is why I have to specialize.
The number of courses offered at the Open School of Journlaism greatly exceeds the minimum requirement of 24 study points. That means I can enroll in those modules that are the best fit for me.
