Dr. Andrew Calcutt
Andrew Calcutt is Principal Lecturer in Journalism at the University of East London, where he edits an online news magazine, Rising East: London on the move, which aims to provide East London "with the coverage it deserves".
He is a contributor to The Routledge Companion to British Media History (2014), and co-author of Journalism Studies: A critical introduction (2012). His first book, Arrested Development: Pop culture and the erosion of adulthood, was published in 1998.
In the mid-1990s Andrew Calcutt was a pioneer of online journalism (Commissioning Editor, Channel Cyberia), having previously worked in broadcasting (Clarke TV for Channel 4), and in print since the late 1970s.
