Richard Orange

 

Richard Orange is Managing Director of Orchard News Bureau Ltd, a UK-based media consultancy business, which specializes in legal affairs, media ethics, online publishing, and winter sports journalism. He has worked as a general news reporter, sub-editor and political correspondent for daily and weekly regional newspapers in the UK, interviewing many of the country's senior politicians and business leaders, and reporting on the courts. He also worked as a senior lecturer and external examiner in journalism, teaching media law, public affairs, news-writing, and freelancing skills at universities in Lincoln, Nottingham, and Cardiff, UK.

Richard also provides language training for clients in Krakow and Nowy Sacz, Poland, focusing on Business, Legal, and General English. He holds qualifications in law (GDL), European Studies (BA Hons), English teaching (ILEC and CELTA) and is completing the professional legal practice course (LPC) for solicitors. His academic publications include Specialist Journalism (Routledge, Oxford) and editorial contributions in Print Journalism: A Critical Introduction (ibid) and Communication Ethics Today (Troubador, Leicester). Richard also edited Now Ski and Snowboard Switzerland, a travel guide book, and is an accredited photo-journalist at international alpine racing events organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS).
