African Journalism Studies (Ecquid Novi)

African Journalism Studies is an academic, peer-reviewed journal co-published by UNISA Press. They publish three issues a year. Although print subscriptions are available to individuals, the online version of the journal is only available to institutions. However, full article abstracts are available online.

Ecquid Novi describes itself as the "premier international peer-reviewed journal for the critical analysis of journalism scholarship, education and practice in all its facets in Africa." One of their primary goals is to bridge the gap between professional African Journalism and academic research. They publish editorials, commentary, analytic articles and interviews. Authors they've published include Herman Wasserman, Dumisani Moyo and Keith Somerville
