Blogs, online sites that allow discussions or consecutive informational posts, are relatively newer tools to the journalism. They allow writers, or in the blogging world "bloggers", to regularly and freely post their thoughts, ideas, and research in an open environment. Blogs are usually interactive, also giving bloggers the chance to interact with their audience. There are millions of public blogs online today, making even more possible for just about anyone to have the chance to express how they feel and why they feel that way.

There are countless large publications who are exploring blogging avenues as a form of reaching out to their readers. Freelance journalists all over are able to pursue their own blogs, allowing them to build their own portfolios and establish wide ranges of readers from all over the world. The world of blogging opens up several doors for anyone, whether they are in the corporate world or working from home.
