Responsible for reporting breaking news and gathering information quickly, correspondents help keep the public informed about events that happen either domestically or internationally. They travel to locations where critical events are happening, getting as much information as possible to deliver to their audience. They guide the camera crew in how to capture the best angles, take their own photographs, and conduct interviews on scene. Many participate in investigative research and attend events related to important stories. There are several different types of specialized correspondents, like those who focus on war or foreign affairs. They all work to best describe the entire background of the event in order to explain all of the details.
