The term journal has many denotations, especially when referring to journalism overall. The word is most commonly used when referring to logs or periodicals, supplied in various periods of time. There are peer-reviewed journals, which are published between scholars and educators, as well as academic journals, which are full of research and reviews. The possibilities behind what journals contain are really endless and all depends on the journalist who is utilizing them.
Journals can also be used as a form of reflective writing, allowing just about anyone to express themselves in words. Journals, commonly known as diaries, have been around for hundreds of years, and often are prescribed by physicians to help patients defeat depression and other emotional disorders.
