Meteorologists are scientists who actively study the weather. Often times, news publications hire professional meteorologists to forecast weather reports on air. They work in broadcast firms, as teachers, and are consultants as well. Other weather forecasters who do not have any official metrological training are usually given seals when they meet specific requirements.
The weather forecast is a crucial part of the news as it not only keeps the public informed on what is happening around them, but also helps look after people and businesses. With the forecasting of weather, society is able to plan for certain natural disasters or events. Meteorologists and weather forecasters assist with relaying this information to the public, allowing them to prepare their lives around what is happening in the world around them.
