Polling refers to the act of voting or gathering an audience's opinion. This is fundamental for journalists to gain statistics for certain articles or to collect the numbers needed to make specific decisions on what to write. Polls are especially popular during election times when government politicians are running for positions of power. They run votes in order to keep a continuous count on who is on top and the public's favorite throughout the entire process. Polling helps audiences, as well as publications, keep track of numbers and figures.
