To spin the news is to influence or slant the information in order to affect the original meaning and impact the judgment of audiences. In most cases, this is hidden behind within the writing and promotes a client or product in either a positive or negative light. Journalists may use this technique in order to help write more advertorial type content or to endorse advertisers in general. It is a great tool to use in order to build relationships between publications and advertisers.
