A sportscaster is a commentator who gives a constant rundown on the events during a game or live broadcast. They usually are heard via voiceover while the audience sees the actual event happening on their screen. They also can announce the sports news on news shows, giving the most updated information to sports fans. They have to be up to date on what is happening in the world of sports and able to make it to a variety of different games in order to gain insight on the events. If a sportscaster is doing a live play-by-play, they have to be knowledgeable of the game's rules and regulations in order to prevent any confusion for the people watching.
