International Network of Street Papers (UK)

INSP was founded in 1994 as a group dedicated to developing and promoting independent street newspaper networks that operate all over the world for the benefit of the underprivileged. The group currently supports over 120 independent newspaper organizations in approximately 24 different countries. These independent newspapers are sold by "street people" as a way to help develop entrepreneurs from people who are dealing with the effects of homelessness and unemployment. Aside from offering and developing job opportunities for these hard-working people, the organization is also involved in social support and job training for the homeless in order to help get people off the streets and reestablish productivity and integrity back into their lives. By going into local communities and developing these new street paper networks, the INSP is able to work with officials within these communities to develop programs designed to create job opportunities in areas that were hurt by the recent recession.
