World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (Germany)

The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers is one of the largest non-profit journalistic organizations in the world. They span across 130 countries with involvement in over 18,000 publications, 15,000 Internet websites and 3,000 media related companies. Since its inception in 2009, WAN-IFRA has been actively involved in the promotion and advocacy of freedom of the press, editorial ethics and integrity, and the development of new techniques and technology related to media reporting throughout the world. Members are given access to some of the best training programs and interactive journalism seminars offered anywhere in the world. WAN-IFRA's influence is felt in every single aspect of news reporting. They are instrumental in helping to develop strategy regarding future management issues, establishing worldwide editorial standards and setting future standards for advertising and improvements in printing and newspaper quality. The group organizes two of the biggest news related conferences in the world; The World Publishing Expo and the World Newspaper Congress, World Editors Forum and Info Services Expo. Finally, WAN-IFRA judiciously uses its influence to advocate for freedom of the press and for human rights throughout the world.
