University of Stellenbosch - Department of Journalism (South Africa)

The Department of Journalism at the University of Stellenbosch was founded in 1978 by an alumnus of the Columbia School of Journalism in New York who used this renowned school as a model. The programs offered are B.Phil in Journalism, MA in Journalism and PhD in Journalism. Courses are bilingual in English and Afrikaans. Modules include Journalism Practice, Broadcast Media, Media Studies, Mass Communication Theory, Media Ethics and many other specialities.
